Jim Wetzel Addresses Learning 2.0: Could It, Should It, Will It? at Drug Information Association (DIA) 45th Annual Meeting
San Diego, CA (June 23, 2009)Jim Wetzel, Director of Strategic Account Services of MedPoint, defines the Web 2.0, identifies Web 2.0 technologies and how they can be used as learning tools, identifies the differences in learning habits between generations of the work force and explains the benefits and limitations of using these new technologies as learning tools.

Learning 2.0 is appealing on many fronts, both to learners and to training developers. From a developers standpoint, learning development, its practices, and technologies are all mature. Most organizations have settled on blended learning approaches to training, with self-paced courses varying little from the page-turning format of their early years. Learning 2.0 offers a chance to do things differently and potentially better than older technologies. Bill Cooney Addresses Best Practices in Training at the ACRP Global Conference
Denver, Colorado (April 26, 2009) - Bill Cooney, President of MedPoint Communications, was a featured speaker today at the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) 2009 Global Conference. Cooney addressed best practices in training sites to conduct clinical trials, with an emphasis on the special needs of global trials and study sites in emerging regions of the world. At the conference, Cooney stated, "Study sponsors can do a much better job training study site members, and when that happens, study sites can then do a much better job executing the study." Cooney discussed various proven methods for effective site training, and the large potential for digital media to lower costs.

The session at ACRP incorporated extensive use of an audience response system, and the session participants reached consensus on issues related to the potential of training and the need for a formal training plan for each study. full press release


Bill Cooney Discusses Training from the Investigator Viewpoint at the MAGI Conference
Miami, Florida (June 2, 2009) - Bill Cooney, President of MedPoint Communications, spoke at the 2009 MAGI Clinical Research Conference today, addressing the quality of training that occurs at Investigator Meetings. Cooney discussed the need to improve support for Investigators and their staff by providing better training on how to conduct individual clinical trials.
